WEDDING, ENGAGEMENT, PORTRAITS

-WHAT DOES YOUR COVERAGE INCLUDE?

All of our packages include 2 photographers, except boudoir as we recommend 1 photographer. On your wedding day you can expect photos of you getting ready, the ceremony, the formals, the reception, dancing and everything in between typically captured in photojournalistic fashion! Coverage also includes the behind-the-scenes editing that'll take place for each photo.

-WHEN CAN WE EXPECT OUR WEDDING PHOTOS?

We are always the most excited as soon as we get home from your wedding day and start backing up the images and looking through what we've captured. Since we're so excited, we definitely know you are excited to see some! We'll get you a sneak peek gallery of a couple images after a few days of your wedding to hold you over while we work on your full collection over the next weeks. To ensure all the attention and detail gets devoted to your images, we typically take 10-12 weeks from wedding day until delivery day.

-HOW WILL WE GET OUR PHOTOS AFTER THEY ARE FINISHED?

Once your photos are edited we upload them to an online private password protected gallery. From there you get the website link, a download PIN, and all the fullsized originals to view and save. You have the choice of opening it up for friends and family or keeping it privately locked. Once saved to your computer you can then print them from wherever you would like!

-HOW MANY PHOTOS DO WE GET FROM OUR SESSION?

Throughout the engagement session, wedding day, or even boudoir you will hear us taking lots of photos. We are often doing lighting/exposure tests, or taking multiple photos to make sure you arent blinking, fixing your hair, or accidentally catching an unflattering look! But don't worry, you won't have to see any of that! Trust us to go through all the duds and only pick out the truly artistic, flattering, and elegant photos for you. It is hard to give a firm number, but you can typically expect, when all is said and done, to be getting a conservative average of 30-50 deliverable photos per hour for engagements or boudoir, and about 50-80 deliverable photos per hour for a wedding day

-WILL YOU TRAVEL FOR SHOOTS?

We love to travel! We are based out of Edmonton AB, Canada but will travel anywhere for a client. Common locations include Jasper, Banff, Kelowna, Kamloops, and Calgary for local but International locations will work as well. If you're looking for something outside of Edmonton ask us about our Destination Packages.

-DO YOU USE A SECOND SHOOTER?

Luckily because we are a tandum team we are each other's second shooters! We do also have two amazingly wonderful and extremely talented Associate Photographers that help step in as our backups.

-IF I ONLY NEED ONE PHOTOGRAPHER, CAN I GET A LOWER PRICE?

Unfortunately we do not set our prices based on the number of photographers in attendance, but rather based on expense calculations. You actually get the second photographer for the cost of only one!

-WHAT SORT OF EQUIPMENT ARE YOU USING?

Quality and reliability should be high on your list when choosing a photographer and we shoot with only professional gear to capture your moments. Below is a quick breakdown of our ever growing list of equipment:

  • (2x) Canon 5D Mark III body

  • (2x) Canon 5D Mark IV body

-HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO WE NEED TO BOOK WITH YOU?

As with most businesses related to weddings you'll want to book a bit in advance to ensure availability! We operate on a first-come, first-serve basis in regards to a retainer and signed returned contract and also typically book up on weddings about a year in advance, so the sooner you book the better chance there is of us being available. Be sure to send us a message to see if we're available on your date.

-HOW DO WE KNOW HOW MUCH TIME WE NEED TO BOOK YOU ON OUR WEDDING DAY?

This is our favorite part; it allows us to meet with you over a tea or coffee and plan out your day. The best way to ensure you have proper coverage for all the various moments of a wedding is to find out what is most important to you. We are happy to sit down and map out how we work and what we cover while getting to know your needs and wishes. The average GH Photography client does tend to book between 8-10 hours for their wedding day.

-WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PHOTOGRAPH AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION OR PORTRAITS?

The softest and most flattering light from the sun occurs during Golden Hour and this is ideally the best time to get photos done. It is soft, warm, and doesn't make you squint in your pictures! Golden Hour occurs one hour before sunset and one hour after sunrise. However, since not everyone can make these times we are always open to work around any schedule and will make suggestions to catch you in your best light.

-IS IT TRUE YOU HAVE A SEMI-FAMOUS CAT?

It is true! We love our cat and since we are such dorks we are trying to get her to become internet famous. Her name is Perogy (because she is plump, and it's an ode to our heritage!) She can be found lounging around on Instagram!

BOUDOIR FAQs

-WHERE ARE THE PHOTOS TAKEN, DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO?

We have private studios that we use or the Boudoir session can be done in the comfort of your own home!

-WHO WILL BE PRESENT DURING THE SESSION?

It will always just be you and I (Brittney!) from our end but you are more than welcome to keep company with whomever you'd like!

-WHAT IF I AM SHY?

Boudoir is about feminine beauty. Even before meeting you I can assure you that you have nothing to be shy about! A boudoir session can be therapeutic, rewarding, and a boost of self-confidence. My goal is to make you feel beautiful by showing you that you are beautiful. Common things like cellulite, blemishes, stretch marks, etc are easy to edit out, plus with a few helpful clothing tips below you'll have nothing to worry about. The best suggestion is to find lingerie that makes you feel beautiful and then have fun with it.

-YOU HAVE A BOUDOIR GALLERY, WHAT IF I DON'T WANT MY IMAGE POSTED ONLINE?

The best part about this, is it is all about you! From the session itself, to the decisions made before, during, and after! We will never post anything anywhere at any time without expressed written consent giving us permission. As artists we would love to show off your beauty and these photos but we will always respect your requests. For delivery, you will have an online private password protected gallery available where you can download your images.

-WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE EDITS?

We always go with the motto of photo editing: "if it clears up after 2-3 days, it's a blemish! Get rid of it". Any blemishes, scratches, pimples, etc will get touched up and removed out from the photo. Anything natural stays! Simple as that. We also like to clean up any redness or discoloration in skin. Any other removals that you may want can typically done (tattoo cover up) depending on the size and placement.

-DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR THE SESSION?

The first and foremost suggestion that I would always give is to wear something loose fitting and comfortable a few hours before you session. This will help with any redness, weird banding, or indentations caused by clothing.

Next I'd say make sure you find some lingerie that you love and feel beautiful in! This is key because if you feel beautiful in it, it'll show in your eyes and your smile. Another pro-tip for wardrobe is to bring a few outfits, and maybe even an article of clothing from your loved one (boyfriends sweater, his favorite hat, etc)

I always suggest that you'll want to get your hair and make up done professionally, just to give it that little extra oompf. We can always recommend a few industry professionals if you do not know any!

Finally, it's more of a tip for me than anything, but I always have a little bit of music going on in the background. Music is just food for the soul and keeping some awesome tunes going during the session will help everyone let loose and be happy.
