Writing on Stone Provincial Park - A Van Elopement

We are a little embarrassed to admit that we’ve never heard of Writing on Stone Provincial Park prior to this, buuuuuuut live and learn! We can’t wait to venture back south to explore even more of the area! Lots of cool things to talk about this type of elopement style, (finger guns anyone?! They make an appearance later, we promise).

Getting away to Jasper for a smaller wedding

Covid, you guessed it! As we continue through this year of firsts we get to really admire the unique details that went into helping protect family and friends. Custom face masks and decorated hand sanitizer bottles, to catchy greeting signs and smaller reception spaces, we’ve seen so many wonderfully creative solutions and changes that our clients have implemented.

Dreamy Summer Wedding at Hastings Lake Garden

Every time we do an engagement session with our couples we feel like we’ve built a great bond before the wedding. Alicia and Josh are no exception. We ventured off into the mountains with their doggo Gus and we had an absolute blast. Learning about their interests, getting to know their families more, and experiencing all the joys of a wedding with them, we truly feel like we were one of the gang on their wedding.

Harley Davidson + Picnic Blanket Engagement

We had a lot of fun shooting this one in the summer! When we first pulled up, there were a few droplets of rain falling on our windshield, so needless to say we were a little apprehensive that we might get rained out (we have umbrellas with us just in case but depending on how heavy the rainfall, they might prove useless haha!)

Elopement in Ponoka - Barn, Horses, and a Sunset Canoe

Let’s flip tradition on its head for a second, is that ok? Who says you have to get married in the middle of the day, why not at sunset? Who says your flower girls/ring boys can’t just be pretty horses? What if instead of 200+ guests you just had a small handful of guests, and the food you bought was just some of your favourite curated charcuterie board items? These are just some of the wonderful aspects of having a more intimate elopement or micro wedding.

Lifestyle Session - Family hangouts and Big Sister pride

We love to take on family sessions more like lifestyle sessions! If you have props + pillows and stuff you’d love to incorporate, we totally encourage it! But our style of family, newborn, maternity, etc really stems from seeing how you guys are naturally!

Eloping in Waterton amongst the picturesque mountains

We haven’t visited Waterton provincial park and surrounding area since childhood, so when the opportunity presented itself for us to explore the furthest southern reaches of Alberta we couldn’t wait! One thing about Waterton though, holy moly is it ever windy. But holy moly is it ever a sight to behold as well. Waterton is beautiful, a small town nestled on the edge of lake and surrounded by mountains all around. It is the perfect place to have a mini destination elopement while still staying local.

Spring Blossom Session

This was one of our very first sessions coming out of the big isolation quarantine of 2020. Spring was finally blossoming all across the city of Edmonton, outdoor gathering restrictions were slowly being lifted, and we had a dress we had to photograph for AW Bridal. Kendra was on board to hang with us for a short session. We found a cute little pink blossom tree and tried dusting off the isolation blues.
